$1 Buys you a Boat Dock in St Petersburg, Florida

The City of St. Petersburg, Florida announced this past Thurday, their new Courtesy Boat Docks in time for all to enjoy this Memorial Day Holiday weekend.
“With the marina in such an ideal location at the heart of downtown, we wanted to open an area for leisure boaters to be able to dock their vessels for day trips, offering more people the opportunity to enjoy special events or just an afternoon of sightseeing,’’ Mayor Rick Baker said during a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The addition of these St. Petersburg Boat Docks will make downtown St. Petersburg an even better day trip destination for Tampa Bay boaters.
- You can use these docks for only $1 an hour;
- You can dock for a maximum of 6 hours at any one time;
- These docks are open daily from 6am to 2am;
- There are 8 boat docks available on a first come - first served basis;

Hey Cyndee - I thought for a second you could buy dockspace for $1 - I almost started packing my bags to move to St. Pete! This is a great article and good thing the city is doing to boost business.

HA, I thought I could buy dockspace for a dollar also, I was going to say, I will take them all. Figured the resale value would go nicely into the retirement fund. Oh, well!
It is very nice to offer up inexpensive dock space an allow boat owners the opportunity to enjoy the area.
